We Need Your Help!
Please help our school
district by contacting your legislators
regarding the state of public education in
Illinois. Our state aid has been cut,
pension reform could make us liable for
thousands, and school transportation could be
eliminated.

Superintendent's Welcome
We are looking forward
to another great school year. We strongly
believe that we have some outstanding young
people who have the potential to do great things
in life as our students. Sangamon Valley
C.U.S.D. #9 also has some of the best teachers
and staff that can be found in any school in
Central Illinois. Additionally, we have building
principals who are strong educational leaders
and have a desire for a high level of success
for the children who attend classes on our
campuses.
Our families reside within the 110 square mile
area surrounding Harristown, Niantic, and
Illiopolis. Anyone visiting our towns will see
that small town America is alive and well. Those
living in our towns will be seen taking evening
strolls, watching their children and/or
grandchildren play in community
softball/baseball games, or attending an
activity or event sponsored by our school
system. Past graduates of Sangamon Valley will
attest to the fact that, being raised in a small
town, doesn’t restrict a person to small dreams.
Many success stories can be written by doctors,
business people, farmers, and an array of other
professions who all started in our towns.
We are proud of our little towns and our school
district. If you have questions about our
educational programming, please feel free to
contact any of our building principals. Mrs.
Reedy at Harristown Elementary School
(963-2621), Mrs. Hawkins at Illiopolis
Elementary School (486-7521), Mr. Field at
Sangamon Valley Middle School (486-2241), or Mr.
Meadows at Sangamon Valley High School
(668-2392). We would gladly welcome you as part
of our Sangamon Valley family.
